Why am I excited to work with TribesforGOOD?
After completing my media and communication studies and having been a philanthropist since a young age, I wanted to invest my degree and skill set in a place where I could be of some use to bring in a social change. Like most of the Post-Millennial generation, I didn’t want to be a part of the rat race or just for a brands profitability, for that matter. Neither did I want to sit indoors in fancy air-conditioned office and keep doing the same mundane tasks for the rest of my life, nor did I wish to join the mainstream media channels just to add more to yellow journalism or being a political sold out.
After being in a dilemma for quite some time, even though I had found my interests, I didn’t know what exactly was I looking at? Like not a desk job, for sure but also not really field work. Maybe a mix. A mix? Now what is that? After a lot of contemplation, I realized, what I was or rather still am, really interested in is something impactful and obviously something with which I could sustain my living.
After looking for a really long time, I came across TribesforGOOD that works to bring a change to the social impact space. After going through their profile I learned, they are a Social Enterprise (mind you, enterprise and not a non-profit organization) that inspires individuals and redirects them to bring in the required changes in our society through experiential learning and deeply engaging cultural, educational and impactful experiences in India. Finding it extremely interesting, I quickly applied.
Shortly after getting in touch with them, the organization quickly integrated me in their organization, even though I was just a young ambitious fresher who has tons of energy and aspirations. And since then, I don’t really feel out of place anymore, after all this time, I feel like I am on the right path. TribesforGOOD gives me the creative liberty, it makes me feel self-valuable by exposing me to the world of opportunities we have to make the world a better place. TribesforGOOD not only helps me grow professionally with the kind of work that they do but eventually it has also made me very self-reflective.
